Imagine waking up each morning feeling as if you hadn’t slept at all and aching all over. Imagine getting through the day when seemingly random pain is wracking your body, when no one in your surroundings understands your constant discomfort and fatigue. When even doctors do not believe the severity of your symptoms or know how to help or refer you for treatment. This describes the life of people suffering from Fibromyalgia, a chronic disease typified by muscular and skeletal pain, extreme fatigue, sleep problems, memory deficits, and altered mood. It affects approximately 3-6% of the population, and 75-90% of patients are women. Diagnosis and treatment often take several years, and many patients are forced to cope with bureaucratic hurdles and distrust from doctors and from others in addition to general lack of information. Info Fibro is a site in which patients can get information, understand possible treatments, and the best options for them. It is designed for accessibility and provides support during the processes each person undergoes.

This description is of life with Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by extensive musculoskeletal pain, accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood. Fibromyalgia is estimated to affect 6-3% of the general population with 90-75% of them being women. The processes that patients must undergo to get a diagnosis and treatment that suits them can take years. In addition, many patients must deal with bureaucracy and mistrust on the part of doctors and the environment, in addition to a lack of information and understanding of all the processes that must go through. My InfoFibro project is a website designed to help patients understand the processes they need to go through until the best treatment arrives for them. The InfoFibro website is built and designed to make this information accessible, support and help patients with the processes they need to go through.
