This is an introductory course on morphology and its significance. The second semester addresses structural logic and object functionality, characterization, development processes, and formative alternatives. This array of subjects is designed to expand the design skills of students, with this semester focusing in developing a 3-D language, translating content to 3-D images, clarifying critical discourse vs. functional needs, and enhancing 3-D expression using various exercises and formative research. In the last assignment, students selected a cultural rite that represents a philosophy/viewpoint/faith, and they were asked to formulate a contemporary rite that carries a new message. This was then translated into a series of objects that would serve in the ceremonies they created.
