throughout product development, designers often go beyond the  design phase, into engineering and production planning. When designing a product for plastic injection molding, students must first understand technological capabilities and limitations that then enable them to consider not just product appearance, but also decide on manufacturing, but also reinforcing the design and reducing cost. This course was an opportunity for students to design a BT speaker system based on existing components from a disassembled speaker, including production planning, to create computerized files ready to be transferred to the mold manufacturer prior to mass production.
